Video Tutorials on How To Register Domain and Set Nameservers
These are two video tutorials on how to register domain and set nameservers. Before you create any website, the very first step of the process is buying a custom domain unless you want to create free subdomain blog from blogger.com or wordpress.com, with which you will get the web address such as loveme.blogspot.com. But if you are serious about building online business, I highly recommend having custom domain and hosting and you will have complete control when your website has grown big. How much do you need to spend for both domain name and hosting? The initial investment to get domain and hosting is very minimal and the matter of growth is the most important thing so building website will allow you to secretly build by using very small investment. Most namecheap domain costs 12$ on average per domain. I says average because the domain markets are always changing and various for different TLDs like .com, .org, .me, .net, etc. but 12$ is the most approximate amount I can tell you. For hosting with Hostgator it costs about 12$ per month. You will pay about 12$ for one domain per year and 12$ for hosting per month. Why do we need to set the nameservers? When you have bought a new domain with namecheap.com, your domain is in default directed to Namecheap website. You may choose your domain to direct to a particular link and it is your choice. If you choose hosting server of namecheap, you won't have to change nameservers since namecheap will do that for you. But if you use hostgator hosting, you need to set custom nameservers of Hostgator account into your namecheap domain because Namecheap and Hostgator are different companies and I recommend hostgator and namecheap because they are the services I am using every day and having good days with them. How to set nameservers from Hostgator Note: after you have set the nameservers and saved it successfully, your domain doesn't propagate immediately, meaning that you can access the website by going to type your new domain in the browser immediately, it can take up to 48 hours. Most of the time, it is less than that. From my experience, it is less than 24 hours. It really depends.
